About the event

A fun and playful workshop where your perspective will be flipped, literally! What are the benefits of standing on your head, you may ask? Other than being a pretty cool party trick, inversions can: -relieve anxiety -boosts the immune system by stimulating the lymphatic system and detoxifying the body  -increases blood flow to the brain, which in turn energises, invigorates, and revitalises the body and mind. More blood flow means more oxygen, clearing mental fog and bringing clarity to the mind -strengthens core muscles -relieves strain in the back and lower extremities from the effects of gravity -helps you find a new perspective and see things differently. We are forced to take this slowly, not rush into it. It’s all about the journey into the pose, not just the final destination. -it build confidence. If you can stand on your head, what else are you capable of!  -and (this is my most favorite reason!) it allows you to play! Channel your inner child, approach this with playfulness and lightheartedness, laugh, fall, and get back up again! -plus, it’s just really fun to do! What to expect: We will begin by getting the body nice and warm, and then focus on the parts of the body that we will need to hold us upside down. We will then have a good portion of the class to play and ask questions. We will have the wall as support, and I will be there to spot and catch if necessary! And we will finish with a lovely relaxation. And if coming fully upside down doesn’t seem right for you at the time, that’s 100000% ok! Just learning how to set up for the posture will give you all the same benefits as if your feet were in the air.  Remember, slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be, on and off the mat!
