About the event

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old holistic health system originating from India, and is the oldest known medical system still in practice.

Ayur (“life”) + Veda (“knowledge”) = The knowledge of how to live a balanced and healthy life.

In Ayurveda, there are 3 bio-energies, or doshas. We are all born with our own unique dosha, and different seasons have their own dosha as well.

Autumn is vata season, governed by the elements of air and space, and we take on the cool and dry qualities of the season. An overabundance of vata can present itself as anxiety, insomnia, dry skin, and digestive discomfort, just to name a few. The good news is there are very simple, accessible adjustments to diet and daily habits that can help bring balance and prevent dis-ease. Ayurveda gives us the power and knowledge to know that our health and wellbeing is in our hands.

Ayurvedic Health Counselor Emily and Yoga Expert Jenny will guide you around how to use the wisdom of Ayurveda and yoga in your daily life, including Ayurvedic lifestyle hacks, easy recipes, and simple yogic practices specifically designed for the autumn season.

You will leave feeling grounded, balanced, and empowered with the wisdom of Ayurveda.

This session will include an Introduction to Ayurveda, a Yoga class infused with Ayurvedic Wisdom and a relaxed and personalised Q and A session where you can ask our experts anything. As we relax and chat enjoy Ayurvedic Elixers and Snacks.

Bring: Mats and equipment are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Handouts on Ayurveda will be provided, but you may also want to bring a pen and a notebook

  • Learn about the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda and how to incorporate that knowledge easily into your diet and lifestyle
  • A grounding, nourishing, and calming hatha flow designed to balance vata dosha in body and mind
  • Tea's and Ayurvedic snacks along with a relaxed and personalised Q&A
