YOGA
The practice of yoga is as old as the story of humanity itself.
The word yoga come from the root word yuj, meaning "to yoke", "to bind together", or "to unite".
The practice of yoga aims to remind us of the unity between mind, body and spirit.
Between breath and movement.
Between the subtle and tangible.
Conscious and unconscious.
And our individuality with the universe.
Yogaś citta vṛitti nirodhaḥ
"Yoga is the cessation of movements in the consciousness."
Yoga Sūtras 1:2
That's it. This is the goal of Yoga. To calm the endless thoughts that parade through the mind.
By using the body through āsana and the breath through prānāyam, we learn to gain control over the monkey mind and find that All is One.
